I delivered pizza for Pizza Hut for about 10 years in
a small town in Wisconsin. There were two local pizza
delivery places in town, but they were not
trustworthy, so we got the majority of calls. One
night, I was to deliver to the main street in this
town. Upon turning onto to the street, I saw one of
our competitors' trucks parked on the road. I passed it
to get to the house I needed to. I went up to the door
and rang the bell. I stood there for about two minutes
and nobody came. The lights were off any nobody seemed
to be home. Upset, I went to back to my car to call and
make sure I had the right number.
All of a sudden, this guy came up to my car and
knocked on my window. It was the other local pizza guy
who was just sitting in his car. He said he ordered
the pizza and that was his house, but he didn't want
the neighbors to see him. So, I started to chuckle and
he paid me, plus a $3 dollar tip! I was feeling pretty
good until he took the pizza and started throwing
slices at my car screaming like a raging lunatic! I
backed up and raced down the road. I was going to
call the cops but I didn't. I went to our store and we
were not to deliver to that address again. I used the
$3.00 tip to wash my car.
