I've been a delivery driver for Papa John's for so long, I'm rarely surprised by the stupid or rude things that people say and do. Tonight, some jackass completely reset the whole scale. As I walked into his yard where he and his family were waiting with their horses, this guy was arguing with his wife. This is what happened when he approached me:
Jackass: There's a lot of retards in the world, and I married one. Me: Well, that's nice. Jackass: I've been keeping horses for 20 years, and she's telling ME what to do.
And then he proceeded to grumble incoherently while he signed his credit card slip. I kept my mouth shut because it was not my place to have an opinion.
Jackass: Well, you're just full of personality. Me: Um... I don't really feel comfortable talking about your marriage. Jackass: I'm not talking about my marriage! I'M TALKING ABOUT HORSES!
So he glared at me for a second and said, "We'll fix this!" And he made sure I saw that he was not giving me a tip. Then he shoved the slip into my hand and said, "The next time I order, you better make sure you're not the one that comes here."
By some miracle, I didn't cuss him out, throw his food on the ground, or damage his property in any way.
