| Delivery story 470

I worked for Pizza Hut in Dallas, TX for 6 months as a part time job to try to make some extra cash to get ahead of my bills. I have never been a delivery driver before and have always tipped my driver at least 3-5 bucks so I thought I would be able to make a little bit of money from delivering. While I have tons of stories and have some revenge stories that are awesome (although highly illegal) I thought I would share one that the whole store was in on.
I was sent out on a delivery and once again it was another unproductive night with many, many stiffs. On this particular delivery I arrived at the house and everything was normal. I had another delivery in the car so I was in a hurry to get this one done so that I could move on. As I approached the door of the house a kid no older than six pushed the door open and handed me a $20 on a $19.10 order. Being used to this by now I took the $20, handed the kid the box that he could barely carry, and turned to go back to the car.
From inside the house I hear a lady bellow out,
"Did he give you the change?"
While I couldn't hear the answer I kept walking hoping to get to the car before I had to deal with this woman... No luck. She crashes through the front door causing it to bang against the wall and yells out, "Hey! I needs my change!"
"I am sorry ma'am. I don't have 90 cents on me. We don't carry coins because we work off of tips."
She says, "Come back up here. I will get you a dime."
So I head back up to the house and wait at the door... and wait... and wait. Five minutes later she comes out with a dime and drops it on the floor in front of me and demands her dollar back. So I bend over and pick up the dime from the floor and leave her dollar in the same place as the dime.
At this point I am pretty upset and still have another delivery to do so I am kinda pissed about my other delivery being late. So I tell the woman,
"Ma'am, next time do me a favor." She says, "What?" "Next time order from Domino's." She clearly didn't appreciate that so she says, "Next time don't bring your fat ass back here." (honestly, pot calling the kettle) I then reply as coolly and professionally as I can, "That is exactly what I am trying to do."
I walked back to the car as she is yelling and cussing and I went to my next delivery.
When I got back to the store my manager asked me what had happened and I told her everything but the part about the Domino's comment. She then asked if I wrote anything on her car. The customer called and complained that I had been rude and wrote "Wash your stank ass" on her car. Since I hadn't I honestly replied that I did not. After the manager left for the night the fun really began.
One of the CSRs went outside to the payphone and called the customer claiming to be from corporate. After the customer told her side of the story and said that I had written that on her car the CSR then asked if she had washed it.
"My car?" "No. Your stank ass."
The customer started yelling and the CSR hung up. From that point on about once or twice an hour one or two of us would go out to the payphone and call her to see if she had washed it. When she blocked the payphone number a week later we used the one next to it. Needless to say we prank called her for about a month from different phones and each time it was more and more satisfying. She never ordered again.
