I work for the Big D in Florida and several weeks ago I had a delivery that was roughly 11 miles one way and took me about 20 minutes to get out there. In reality that is out of our delivery area but since it was a fairly large order with 3 pizzas, wings, breadsticks, and a salad that came out to almost $40 and they order twice a month I decided that I would take it. Big mistake. They have never complained until now. I get back to the store and take 2 other deliveries. When I get back from those 2 deliveries I am told by the shift manager that I have to take a refund back out to them because of the fact that they did not get the right wings. They wanted the boneless and they got regular wings instead. They offered to give her the boneless or get a discount on her next order. She said to just bring the money back and they will give the whole order back. Luckily there were 2 other orders going the same way so I got those together and took them first, then drove all the way out to the address to give them their money back and to get the order back as well and drive back to the store. I explained to the customer that generally we no longer come out to this area anymore but since they are good customers we did them a favor by delivering to them. After this it would have to be up to the owner as to whether or not we come out here again. I even had to give the tip back! I got back to the store and told the shift manager that since they were the ones that screwed up the order that they were going to give me the tip money back plus reimbursement for the drive out there.
If they order from us again and the order is screwed up and they want a refund then either the person that screwed up the order can take them the refund or management can because I won't!
