Delivery story 425

St. Louis writes:

We had a rather strong ice/snow storm. Our Area Manager said it was entirely up to the driver if they wanted to deliver or not. None of the other area Pizza Huts were delivering, but I'm a 35+ year veteran mailman and I said, "I'm a driver; I drive." Most all of the callers were shocked we [read "I"] was the only one on the road. Surprisingly, I was getting a higher rate of stiffs than normal. After one delivery I was returning to my car when some woman drove up, got out of her car and shouted, "Wait, wait!" I stopped and tried to figure out what she wanted. She approached and said, "I can't believe people are calling for delivery on a day like today. I can't believe you're doing it." She handed me a $20 bill and returned to her car and pulled away.
