Delivery story 404

The Metal Hick writes:

I worked at a Papa John's in Fargo, ND. A Gloria Jean's coffee house had just been built next to the store and I would always go flirt with the knockouts they employed while they made me coffee drinks. This particular night, I drank a lot of coffee, and had a huge caffeine buzz. I was in such a hurry that I left my truck in drive and hopped out to deliver a pizza. The customers were taking their time getting to the door so I nonchalantly looked around. I spotted a truck driving across a lawn and thought "drunken idiot!" My blood ran cold as I realized it was my truck.

I set the pizzas on the step and sprinted after my truck. I had almost caught it when I slipped on some ice and tore my pants and cut up my leg. I sprang to my feet and continued my pursuit. I caught my truck as it was crossing a road and heading dead center toward a tree. I threw my leg in and caught the brake pedal stopping my truck about ten feet short of the tree. I collected myself quickly as I was blocking part of the road and a car was stopped, waiting for me to fix the situation. I backed off the yard and gingerly drove back down the street where my delivery was.

As I pulled up to the house I saw the customer's daughter looking confused at the hotbag full of pizzas. I tried to explain why I had bloody torn pants and was out of breath but thankfully they didn't care and paid me quickly. The guys at the store had a good laugh and I always made sure I put my truck in park.
