Delivery story 4

A couple years ago I worked as a manager (and was formerly a driver) for a joint called Safari's Pizza in the nice little city of Woodinville, WA. Safari's business came mostly from word of mouth and it was nice to see a small business kicking butt all over the big chains in town. The reason people loved us, besides that we had a good product, was because we really bent over backwards for customers. On December 23rd, a woman called from the Woodinville Post Office and asked if we'd deliver 12 pies or so at 10:30 AM on Christmas Eve. We didn't open until eleven, but I figured I could come in an hour early, make, and deliver the pies on my own. I gave the post office roughly a 50% discount. Twelve large pies with assorted toppings were delivered promptly at 10:30 AM on Christmas Eve by me, the manager. The woman had me carry the stack of pies in the giant warmer to the opposite end of the building and then handed me an envelope. When I counted the money in my car, it came to exact change -- NO TIP.
