Delivery story 398 Tony writes: This didn't happen to me, but another delivery driver I work with. We work for a small but fairly successful family-run business outside of Philly. The only drivers on duty that night were me and this guy Jose. So Jose went out on a delivery, I believe the total was about $20 and he gets to the customer's door and the dude's a couple bucks short. He goes into the kitchen and starts asking his buddies for money. One of them said, "Give him the change," and the guy returns with a 2-liter bottle FILLED with change. He said, "Here. Take this. There's probably about $15 in there." It was a pretty slow night. We only had about two more deliveries that night and only a few old couples in the restaurant, so Jose spent the rest of the night counting his change. It turns out the bottle was almost all quarters, so Jose ended up getting about a 160 dollar tip from that one delivery.
