I've been delivering for Pizza Hut in Georgia for the past four years. Once, I pulled into a driveway in a fairly nice neighborhood that we regularly deliver to. I had never been to this particular house, and noticed two teenage boys standing on the big front porch. One was on a cell phone.
I walked up, said hello, and one of the guys said, "My Mom went upstairs to get the money." I said, "Okay," and started handing the four-pizza order to one of them. He then took the food into the house, and I noticed that he closed the door behind him unusually fast. I stood there for a minute and the second guy hung up his cell phone. He said to me, "Let me go see what the hell is taking her so long." Then, he went in and again, closed the door fast behind him. At this point, I was getting impatient and starting to think that something was up with those idiots.
I gave them the benefit of the doubt and waited another minute. Finally, I knocked on the door. Then I rang the doorbell. Then I knocked REALLY hard and tried to open the door. It was locked! Now I was pissed off. I threw the pizza bag in my truck and turned off my engine. Then I began to walk around the house. That was when I caught a glimpse into a window and realized that the house was completely empty. No furniture or anything. I then saw the "for sale" sign laying in the bushes!
I ran around to the back and saw that the back door was open. Those punks had run through the house, out the back, and into another house in the neighborhood. The place was laid out to where it would have been easy for them to run through some woods and into a different house.
I drove around the neighborhood to make sure I didn't see them. I was so mad, I just wanted to kick their scrawny, little "you-know-whats!" But, after I cooled off, I had to give them some credit. They put one over on me good. Of course, ever since then, I never give the food away until I see money!
