Delivery story 358

Lizzie writes:

I am not a driver, but I'm a loyal customer.

I go to Northern Kentucky University, and sometimes on Fridays, I'll order from the local Papa John's. Well, there's this one driver there. He's a huge black guy who is about the nicest guy I've ever met. For one, he told me about this discount NKU students get on larges. With the discount, a large one topping pizza came to about $10.

It actually was him telling me about this discount that caused the following story.

Every time I order pizza up here, I always tip at least $5-$10, depending on the total cost.

And one night, it was him who came to the door. We exchanged pleasantries, I handed him about $20, and wished him a good night. He paused, flipping through the cash. He looked up at me, this shocked expression on his face, and asked me if I was sure. (He was getting about $10 for a tip.) I promptly responded, "Yes, sir!"

Now, I am not sure how his other deliveries had gone that night, but he immediately broke out into a huge grin and said I had made his night.

To make a sorta long story short, tip well. You never know when you can make someone's day take a turn for the better. :)
