Delivery story 318

Ryan writes:

I deliver for a Jimmy John's in Springfield, Illinois. Sandwich delivery is the absolute worst because we do not get compensated for gas mileage.

Because of this, we rely on generosity completely, and as you know that means we end up with very little money. But nothing compares to the day I had recently.

I came in early to help make an order that our manager took that was out of the area. Normally he wouldn't take it, but it was a $330 sandwich order, which is a lot. So I help make it and load it in boxes into my Honda Accord. I drove at least 6 miles away to a small town. Not only was the lady receiving the order extremely rude to me, she wrote a 0 on the tip line on the credit card receipt and re-wrote the $330 total under it. I gave her the nastiest look I possibly could and shook my head.

I am so happy I found this website. Being a delivery driver has made me completely lose faith in mankind. Human decency is nearly completely gone. Most days, I make enough money to cover gas plus about $10 more. It's pretty sad that this is what delivering food has turned into, but it is.
