I work at Domino's pizza in Del City, Oklahoma.
I went to an apartment building to deliver a pizza. When I got there I saw six guys running around acting kind of strange but I was new to the delivery biz and didn't really think anything of it. I went around to the back of the apartment and knocked on the door. No answer. Then I noticed an eviction notice on the door. That was when my gut told me something wasn't right.
As I was walking back to my car, I was approached by the guys hanging out front and one of them told me the pizza was his and asked how much it was. I looked at the sticker to find out the price and one of them had come up from behind me and started punching me in the back of my head and then the guy in front of me started hitting me, too. I heard one of them say, "Stick him! Stick him!" At that moment I took off running as fast as I could, but the guy chasing me was much faster than me.
I ran to the first door I came to and started knocking. The guy in the house yelled though the door, "Go the f@%# away!" The guy who was chasing me had me cornered and was demanding my keys and money. I told him I didn't have them. He started to come towards me and it was one-on-one now. I shoved him very hard, knocking him to the ground. He got up, came back at me, and I swung as hard as I could and landed a hard hit to the side of his head. Then he decided to give up and went back to where the rest of his friends were.
There was a store not too far from where I was and I thought it would be safer than going back to my car. I walked over to it and called the police. The police came, picked me up and took me to where my car was but they had stolen it. I always lock my keys in my car because I have a keyless entry number pad on the door. They busted out the passenger side window because I had a door sign on and I guess they were able to wedge their fingers in the top and bust out the window.
My car was found the next day. A neighbor noticed the busted glass and called the police. They stole the radio but that was it. The car was fine besides the busted window.
I later figured out the whole thing was a set up. The reason they acted funny when I pulled up was because they were waiting for a lit up Domino's sign. I didn't plug mine in that night (and I still don't.) I almost foiled their plan, but I was new and didn't have a clue.
