Delivery story 273

I work in Georgia at a place called Wing Zone. We deliver wings. One night I had a call to deliver to a regular in a rich neighborhood. They were nice people and when the parents ordered they tipped a couple bucks. When the babysitter was there she did not, though she was nice enough so we never really cared.

I took them their food and was happy to see the father was there. I figured it was cool. I'm going to get like two or three bucks for the drive. He took out a big wad of cash with one $5 bill and a bunch of 20s. I'm thinking $22 order equals $25 cash. He plucked out two 20s and gave them to me. Then he snatches the food and slams the door in my face. I said, "Thanks a lot," with a big grin in a happy manner to the door. To this day, I still think fondly of that $18 tip. Anyone who tips me $10+ is welcomed to slam the door in my face for all I care.

So remember that even if the costumer is rude in the usual manners like snatching, slamming doors, or some other such way, a big enough tip sure as heck makes up for it.
