Delivery story 130 Bear writes: I worked at a Pizza Hut in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. My first weekend delivering, I took a pie to the far west side. Of course no one was home. I had two other orders to deliver so I dropped them off and went back to the store. When I got back, I was told the people were now home and to re-deliver the pizza. When I got there, there was a pickup in the driveway with its hood up. It wasn't there before. I got to the door and the guy gave me a check for the exact amount of the order. As I was walking back to my car, I heard him call to his buddy who was under the hood if he had a dime. He got the dime and handed it to me and said, "Here's your tip." He then asked me if I had any jumper cables and if I could jump the truck for him. Now the dime tip was insulting enough. After two trips to that loser's house, now he wants me to jump start his truck. I simply looked at him and politely said, "Hell no," and drove off. When I got back to the store I threw the delivery bag and swore up a storm. My manager said, "Yup. She's a driver alright." I was delivering in one of the richest parts of town. I had to deliver to one of the junior high schools. It started pouring. I ran to my car and got drenched and hit in the lip with a big hail stone. I had one more delivery. As fast as I could in the rain, I got to this rich bimbo's house. I was dripping wet and my lip swollen. Nice big house with fancy cars. Typical rich soccer mom type. She opened the door, gave me a dirty look, paid the exact amount, and closed the door. NO TIP. I walked through her flowers on the way back to the car. We got a call to deliver to a street where no one ever tips. None of the other drivers wanted to take it. (All guy drivers. This is important to the story.) I decided to take it. When I came back, they asked if I got a tip. It was $2. Then I turned and told all the guys that they should have taken it. The girl who answered the door was very pretty and wore nothing but a towel. She had hopped in the shower after ordering and I got there before she was done.
