After you write the check in advance, it's a good idea to have it easily accessible. Keep the check in your pocket or leave it near the front door.
Again, it's okay if you would like to include
the TIP on the check. You can write it for the sum of the tip and bill amount. This saves you from having to search for cash to cover the tip. It also prevents the middleman from possibly intercepting and stealing the tip.
