Just wondering. I don't like drawing attention to myself when I'm on duty. As they say in Japan, the nail that stands the highest gets hit first.

I would use them under protest. When I had to go to the hood, the damm thing went into the trunk. I wouldn't light them up either. Y'all have a good one Bob

"ROB ME" signs. there is both good and bad. people are more tolerant of your parking when they see the sign. the sign also does increase business - by the time you get back to the store there may be another order for the street where you just went. if criminals are driving their stolen car around looking for somebody to follow and rob, its you. if you refuse the sign you might not be working there anymore. the signs, when new, have rubber covers on the magnets to protect your car. these fall off. if you have really nice paint, be careful, perhaps using a cloth between your car and the magnets.

I think the "sign effect" is negligible in actually increasing sales over a period of time. Everyone knows who Pizza Hut is. Sometimes i'll light it up, sometimes it never sees the car. It just depends. I hate all the customer complaints it generates. This dude asked me about the sign one time, why I didn't have it on. It was an area I feared a robbery that night for some reason. I told him it was a "moving target" He liked that, made him laugh.

I've never been pulled over while wearing a car-topper. I've been pulled over twice without one.

Never been pulled over, and never received parking tickets, as long as I had my car topper lit up. I share this information with all my newhires. I also tell my newhires that if they ever come across home that requires a call back (e.g. no lights on whatsoever, outside or inside of the house) that they need to pull a block or two away and unplug their topper before they make their call.

I'm not going to say that every cop out there is going to be the same, but all the ones I've known personally (and given my background, that's a lot) wouldn't hesitate to pull someone over just because they were delivering. I've been on ride alongs and seen cops pull over delivery drivers at the same thresholds they would pull anyone else over at. I was pulled over with a car sign on for a headlight out.

I was pulled over with a sign on for tinted windows and another time for squealing tires in my wife's grand am that I was delivering in for the first night. Neither resulted in a ticket, but being a delivery driver didn't afford me any extra security from a cop stop. The rule of thumb I used given from my former police Chief was that you give a certain amount of extra leeway to people who are obviously working. However, unless a cop used to be a delivery driver, and WAY MORE than you guys can understand have delivered at some point (I know of 5 off the top of my head that I've worked with who were cops and delivered), the ones who weren't won't be so lenient. Thanks to Domino's commercials for over 20 years, just like the common population, they have a skewed perception of what a delivery driver is and to them you're just punk kids working for dope money. Also, the ones who have histories in delivery understand how much you drive in and around extreme traffic and circumstances and may expect better driving skills and traffic law obedience out of you. BTW, the car toppers are a flagrant hazard to your health while delivering. This has been discussed to death on this board. Use one at your own risk. If you have the option, just say no. You might just live longer and at the very least, you'll certainly not have to put up with near as much BS if you don't light yourself up.

I outright refuse to use car-toppers. I would rather be alive and unemployed, than dead from a gunshot wound from a robbery, which the car-topper contributed too!

Car-toppers should be optional. In addition, anyone who drives with one should be given hazard pay and a bonus for advertising for the as*holes.
